Color version of black and white double-page spread published in the graphic novel of the same title by Kim Deitch with Simon Deitch (Seattle, WA: Fantagraphic Books, 1993). Hand-colored and -detailed illustration over printed background on paper. 253x305 mm; 10x12 inches, on 11x16 1/2-inch sheet. Signed "Kim Deitch" in margin at lower right. Hinged to board; matted and framed.

Deitch was part of the underground comix movement of the 1960s. His work often centers on fictionalized histories of the American animation industry and features variations of characters from beloved classic comics and cartoons, such as Waldo, a black feline reminiscent of Felix the Cat, pictured here at lower center.
